Bonnabel STUFF

I am still working on getting another production (or tour,) of THE GOOD BOY up and running, but in the meantime....

I will be performing in two events coming up this summer.
Sharon Yablon's THE FARM (a collection of original short plays) in which I play an array of very out side the box characters. Can I just add that there will be make-up and wigs involved. Those performances start on August 27th. More news to follow.

AND I will be singing as a part of the Inara George Benefit for the Theatricum Botanicum (A Tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David) on September 5th. Always a magical event.

Had a chance to see THE INTERLOPERS last night at The Bootleg. A worthy project.
A modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet between two pre-op transexuals. Not a great play, but there are two amazing performances that make it worth seeing. Tara Karsian and Diarra Kilpatrick. WONDERFUL!

A STUNNING "SOLITUDE" at LATC!

The Stars are out tonight

Was so happy to see Sandra Tsing Loh and Lupe Ontiveros in our audience at yesterday's matinee.
They could not have been more sweet and generous.

Lupe is in one of my favorite movies "Chuck and Buck," and gives one of the best performances I have ever seen in that Mike White film. Fantastic.

And what can I say about Sandra. One of the brightest people on the planet and a huge solo show inspriration.

To have both of these great talents coming to see my little show and to be so complimentary was very gratifying. Here's to hoping that more starshine will light up our way to a longer run and more success ahead.

THE GOOD BOY has a new director. Darin Anthony! So exciting. Now we start up and I am thrilled to have someone who is so in tuned with the project and has a real feel for this material. We are staring up THIS WEEK! Now to build our budget. More news to come!

Someone play taps

A sad state of affairs. I have lost my director of choice, the estimable and talented Nick DeGruccio.
LATC and the director of the show prior to my proposed production threw me under the bus. And in doing so, forced my beloved director no choice but to drop out of the production.

This is hopefully not insurmountable. But the mountain is looking pretty steep right about now. Not much time before we are supposed to go up. I am praying, praying and praying. Join me?

Ouch!

Experiencing some pain and discomfort. Knowing that life is not always that easy.
Have now been bounced around hither and thither with the upcoming production of THE GOOD BOY at LATC. Don't quite know where we are or where things are headed. But I am hopeful.
Pray, peace, love and joy.

Beat the drums!

Met with dear friend and kind Good Boy supporter Flori Schutzer, a fundraising expert, on how to proceed with obtaining the funds we will need to co-produce this production. I am looking at this as an opportunity to really do the kind of show we need to, in order to take this play to the next level.

We have a meeting scheduled with LATC tomorrow to discuss details. Pray.

Life is just a bowl of cherries

A major hurdle has been placed in front of our upcoming production of The Good Boy at LATC. The "economy" has forced their budgetary hands and now we need to raise money in order to get the show on the boards. The mother of invention is being called upon. More shall be revealed.

The Good Boy starts his march

This is a big week. For The Good Boy.
Meeting my exciting new director, Nick DeGruccio, to start work, and meeting with the LATC Artistic Director, Jose Luis Vanlenzuela, to discuss specifics and scheduling for our upcoming new production. Wow!

This is really happening folks.

So now that the 99¢ Show has wrapped up its' spectacular run at The Bootleg, sadly, it's on to my next adventure...

Time to talk about The Good Boy!

I am excited to say that the Los Angeles Theater Center has scheduled a new production of my solo play as a part of their Spring Season! Wow! So now the journey begins. I will be looping y'all in on the upcoming schedule and information as soon as possible. I look forward to sharing this story again soon.
