Bonnabel STUFF

I am still working on getting another production (or tour,) of THE GOOD BOY up and running, but in the meantime....

I will be performing in two events coming up this summer.
Sharon Yablon's THE FARM (a collection of original short plays) in which I play an array of very out side the box characters. Can I just add that there will be make-up and wigs involved. Those performances start on August 27th. More news to follow.

AND I will be singing as a part of the Inara George Benefit for the Theatricum Botanicum (A Tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David) on September 5th. Always a magical event.

Poor Good Boy got preverbially SCREWED.
And I didn't even get a nice dinner out of it, as they say....

That's showbiz.

Broken promises make for a broken heart.

Here's to a much better future for the dear boy.

The Good Boy is still here

Still making dreams happen? I hope so.
I am still trying to see if we can remount a production of The Good Boy.
Things are in the works and there is "talk."

In the meantime, while I am working toward creating my own website, please see the webpage that my talented director Darin Anthony created for our play:
Some fun stuff to keep you occupied while we get our mojo working to getting a new production up.

Wonderful performances!

Had a chance to see THE INTERLOPERS last night at The Bootleg. A worthy project.
A modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet between two pre-op transexuals. Not a great play, but there are two amazing performances that make it worth seeing. Tara Karsian and Diarra Kilpatrick. WONDERFUL!

So exciting! Passage of Gay Marriage!
What a wonderful world.

About time!

First off... Let me say ... saw "The Method Gun" Friday night at The Kirk Douglass! AMAZING! The last 10 minutes were as exciting as anything I have ever seen on any stage anywhere. Rude Mechs ROCK it in the real world.

ALSO... appearing in a reading of a new play today at The Bootleg.
B-RATED FIASCO by Ken Roht. Sunday June 26th @ 3PM.

Wild, funny and out there. Please come witness the madness!

If anyone is able, run, and I mean RUN do not walk, down to LATC tonight or tomorrow (June 18th and 19th) to see the amazing production of SOLITUDE. It is a part of the LA RADAR Theater Festival. Gorgeous! Only two more chances to see something that will leave you thrilled about what kind of theater is happening in Los Angeles.
So worth your time.

The Stars are out tonight

Was so happy to see Sandra Tsing Loh and Lupe Ontiveros in our audience at yesterday's matinee.
They could not have been more sweet and generous.

Lupe is in one of my favorite movies "Chuck and Buck," and gives one of the best performances I have ever seen in that Mike White film. Fantastic.

And what can I say about Sandra. One of the brightest people on the planet and a huge solo show inspriration.

To have both of these great talents coming to see my little show and to be so complimentary was very gratifying. Here's to hoping that more starshine will light up our way to a longer run and more success ahead.

The Good Boy is looking forward to seeing you!

We are lucky enough to have a new set of shows to do this weekend.
So looking forward to seeing more new faces in the audience!
Check out the nice review we got!
Tomorrow (Thursday May 12th) is our cheapie ($10.00) tix night. AND it will be the same night as the LA ArtWalk.
A totally cool thing to do downtown. Plan ahead and take advantage of all the interesting things you can do as part of the ArtWalk and have delectibles from all the fantastic food trucks that will be around. AND then come see a wonderful play (I am talking about THE GOOD BOY @ LATC!)
Come on down!

Oh Lord in heaven. I had SIX people in the audience last night.
Lovely people, but there were crickets out there. Seriously. Crickets.

Got a lovely notice:
AND there is a piece on us on
Please come and save THE GOOD BOY from oblivion.

Hey, guess what?
The Good Boy is on TWITTER!!!
Yes, you read that right. The luddite of all time is on Twitter.
Well, I'm going to try to keep up, but the delightful and talented Silvie Zamora is really going to be my Twitter conduit. She helped to set me up and is going to monitor it for me.
I mean, really... look how long it takes me to update my frickin' blog for God's sake.
BUT... if you want to keep up with me and tweet away...

Also... I am still in GREAT need of raising money to help bolster our budget for The Good Boy @ LATC.
As some of you (all 7 of you who follow me cough cough) that LATC almost canceled my show due to a slash in their government assistance. So to help keep us alive, and on the boards, we need to help fund the show as co-producers. If you know anyone who loves this show, or would like to support the arts, tell them to go to this link and donate away (tax deductable!) PLEASE?

Love love and more love. Michael and The Good Boy thanks you!

Help a Good Boy out

Happy day.

We are set up on the LATC website for tickets, and if you are able, a donation option to support this new production of THE GOOD BOY. This boy needs you. Opening on April 30th!

So much love and thanks to all for your love and support. Means the world to me and I hope to see you all at LATC soon. This good boy now thanks you.

The Good Boy @ LATC!

Please do make a plan to come see me in this exciting new production of THE GOOD BOY to open at LATC next month. Darin Anthony is bringing a whole new vision and sensibility to the play. It feels like a brand new show. I am all discombobulated and thrilled at what is coming.

Hip Hip Hoorah!

THE GOOD BOY has a new director. Darin Anthony! So exciting. Now we start up and I am thrilled to have someone who is so in tuned with the project and has a real feel for this material. We are staring up THIS WEEK! Now to build our budget. More news to come!

Someone play taps

A sad state of affairs. I have lost my director of choice, the estimable and talented Nick DeGruccio.
LATC and the director of the show prior to my proposed production threw me under the bus. And in doing so, forced my beloved director no choice but to drop out of the production.

This is hopefully not insurmountable. But the mountain is looking pretty steep right about now. Not much time before we are supposed to go up. I am praying, praying and praying. Join me?

Experiencing some pain and discomfort. Knowing that life is not always that easy.
Have now been bounced around hither and thither with the upcoming production of THE GOOD BOY at LATC. Don't quite know where we are or where things are headed. But I am hopeful.
Pray, peace, love and joy.

Beat the drums!

Met with dear friend and kind Good Boy supporter Flori Schutzer, a fundraising expert, on how to proceed with obtaining the funds we will need to co-produce this production. I am looking at this as an opportunity to really do the kind of show we need to, in order to take this play to the next level.

We have a meeting scheduled with LATC tomorrow to discuss details. Pray.

I am living in a hopeful place. Thanks to all and may this lead to effortless success.

Life is just a bowl of cherries

A major hurdle has been placed in front of our upcoming production of The Good Boy at LATC. The "economy" has forced their budgetary hands and now we need to raise money in order to get the show on the boards. The mother of invention is being called upon. More shall be revealed.

The Good Boy starts his march

This is a big week. For The Good Boy.
Meeting my exciting new director, Nick DeGruccio, to start work, and meeting with the LATC Artistic Director, Jose Luis Vanlenzuela, to discuss specifics and scheduling for our upcoming new production. Wow!
